So - If you plan on taking AdSense seriously...

Where would you start in terms of domain and hosting? I see some conflicting advise out there... Even as a noob, should you be paying for a domain and hosting, or is it viable to use free domains or hosting???
Obviously the benefits to free...are its free, and if you give up on Adsense you've only lost your time.

At this point in time I'm thinking of creating a few blogs, where I would be posting actual articles, about things I have actual knowledge.
On the flip side I've also been considering just making and baking a bunch of sites just for adsense placement to see how much I can bring in... maybe using PLR or auto-content generation...

Any thoughts, or good noob guides on those 2 approaches? (or mixing them - in terms of domain\hosting?)

Thanks for any advise/opinions on the matter...n I CAN google search this stuff(and have) but I always like to cross reference with a few forums, so I can get a better view and learn faster.

    Thanks again!

top dollar comes from professional level work.
that includes all the additional site-quality factors that may or not-YET be part of google quality algho
for a site quality of course server quality is first choice - means overall high page loading speed and unique IP for a site
= dedicated server and multiple servers BEFORE servers are overloaded to offer a pleasant surfing experience
professionals really serious in offering top online services DO make this step UP in investment
it was my very best investment ever to move from hosted to dedicated server and multiple server later on

a domain name - OF COURSE
free server stuff is done by stingy ppl only, by hobby kids, by ppl without commitment - but never by serious professional
before even thinking to earn max $ you have to prove real and full commitment in offering TOP quality over extended period of time

a domain name properly chosen shows that you have a PLAN, that you made some deep thoughts about your own future
a serious $ revenue site requires years or decade ++ of full time publishing work
then and only then you really start to enjoy a kickback by high xx'xxx $/yr - enough for a fully adsense finance professional publisher life

while many youngsters or newbies may still go for a bunch of blogs and sites ...
I am still for a ONE site with ONE blog solution
there are countless benefits for ONE huge site vs many mini-sites
    among many are
a huge site with many thousand pages and ten thousands of uv/d is much easier to market via adsense and adsense channels than mini sites
it makes NO sense at all for advertisers to even READ or study your mini-site adsense channel instructions
while a large site may generate sufficient interest resulting dollar profits for your advertisers by using an intelligent channel structure having entirely the advertisers in mind.

    besides that
free sites and small hobby sites rarely ever get into the top 100k alexa rank and therefor you loose one site advertising factor. professional advertisers contact you when your site reaches below30-35'000 alexa rank ( of course cheating alexa is revealed latest after ONE single advertising day via adsense. hence cheaters fail, Google pageviews for advertisers instantly show the real traffic volume of a site.

    for a beginner - i recommend a similar path I took
    1. get a domain matching your life expertise and main focus of interest and qualification
    2. get a descent host for an affordable host package - may be something to start in the range of 5-10 $/m
    3. create a site / folder structure able to infinitely expand ALL your future life
    4. then sit down and CREATE unique quality content
... then after the first 2-3 years review your life and see if you LOVE to do what you do with your web site
else you have invested little and lost nothing except time and efforts

    if you love it
get prepared to move UP with dedicated server, etc
that part actually should start when you begin with your web site endeavor by having an OS identical to your server - later you NEED the OFFLINE experience for your future dedicated server admin work!

if you think about possible giving up before having started
then you most likely are among those who want a web site ( MFA ) just for the $ and no other reason
you WOULD FAIL sooner or later
there must be much more than wanting to earn money - LOVE for the world, to be of service to OTHERS, to create and offer VALUE to the world
to work overtime - unlimited hours, days and nights - may be in the range of 5000 hrs/yrs for a decade or more
then a side effect of your efforts and services are flowing mid or higher xxxx$/m revenue

when you can work hundreds and thousands of hrs without ever thinking of $ revenue
then and only then are you really doing something you LOVE to do that eventually will create a flood of $ bouncing back to you ...

read and work always with your heart - then you understand even a misspelling - should read:
    = sharing
sharing = forwarding self created value to others without discrimination and for free or donation basis for the sole reason of love and the sole purpose to facilitate other people's life, progress, success and happiness in life

Well, the reason I didn't look into spelling is because I did see "thanks for shearing dear " in another post...but that member is now banned. Thought it was some "clique" phrase the way MMA fighters say Ground and Pound, or Internet Gamers say "fail" or "rage"... Oh well! thanks again!

Personally, I would use a .com domain that I buy, and free web hosting.

In my opinion free web hosting is more then enough web hosting most people need. (only if you find the good free web hosting of course)

How does one find GOOD free hosting? I tried several free ones, and the ones I liked, were just easiest for me to use... then I got lazy and stuck with just one. Generally how large can you grow using Free? And how difficult is it to switch over to something like a pay for host from free (especially if its another host entirely)

Go with Wordpress and use Bluehost.
Bluehost has UNLIMITED Bandwidth, and I believe UNLIMITED Space.

If you're serious about making money, don't expect to right away.
If you have no idea what you're doing, Pot Pie Girl 6 Step Niche (or whatever) is a great way to begin.

If you are serious in making big bucks in adsense, there are 2 models which you may consider.

    1. Creating sites in different niches
    - you will setup adsense site for various, unrelated niches using site builder. Don't spend time building and tweaking your site, what you want is speed. Spent not more than 10 minute for each site.
    - Preferably to get multiple hosting account hosting in different servers as you want several "C" class IP. It may not significant when you first started out, but once you have hundreds or thousands of sites, it may raise Google red flag if it comes from the same IP.
    - .com is the best but you may use a mixture of .com, .net, .org, .info
    - You may flip the site later for profit

    2. Creating sites in one focused niche
    - choose a popular niche eg health and fitness and broken it into sub niches within health niche eg weight loss, back pain, etc.
    - with this model, you need just one hosting and one domain (although few domain and hosting for your sub niche would not hurt). It's a great option if you have a lot of content in a certain niche as you will establish as an authority site in no time.
    - definitely go for .com
    - Flipping is possible but as you build up the site credibility, the site has huge earning potential. Flip it at higher price if you wish to take this route

Thanks again for more input! Yes, I've been reading about the 2 models mentioned... I think I definitly want my own dedicated, but I am interested in the shake n bake sites as well for testing...

Also I've been reading about keyword density used to rank high on Google... What does it mean when you're using the main web page keyword at least four or five times? I read that "High quality Google Adsense content doesn't look like a string of keywords – it manages to blend in the keyword nicely, so that human visitors read a relevant and well planned text." -- Does this mean that if I have a FOREX site, I should have my domain name mention have the word FOREX< and my articles should have FOREX in them 4 or 5 times -----> and then the quality Adsense picks up on me repeatedly mentioning FOREX... how much word play do I have to do to manipulate things like this?

There's a lot of very good advice on this thread. Don't even think about doing the free option if you are remotely serious about your AdSense project. If you are willing to spend time doing something (time is money after all) why not make a little investment on it?

If you take the free option, you're not going to be motivated enough to make it work. If you think you can just throw it away because it's costing you nothing you will be doomed to failure even before you've begun.

Read all the reviews on as much different webhosts you can and make an informed decision on which one you think is the best.

    Good luck.

Having the keyword as part of your domain is good as it will indirectly help you in the ranking. But you need to aware that having keyword in domain is not the only determining factor whether your site will rank high in SE. It just play a small role in getting your site rank well... The most important factor still the backlinks you get to your site.

Keyword density is important to have an optimized article. If you have a proper keyword density with consistently built backlinks to the page, your chances to rank is very bright provided you have chosen correct keyword.

There are many debate of the "perfect" keyword density. Some think that 3 - 5% is good but some think the other way. Personally I have a good result with keyword density of 1 - 2%, some of my article are lower then 1% but getting extremely good result.

Google is getting smart and having high keyword density will definitely hurt your site ranking. Rule of thumbs, stay save keep in at 1% . What it means is if your article is 100 words, then you will have the keyword mentioned 1 time somewhere in the article. The ideal place to put keyword- 1st para, article body and last para.
