I'm considering using a manual directory submitting service to submit my blog to about 1,000 SEO-friendly directories of varying PRs. The price seems good, but I'm still wondering if it's worth the money? Can I expect to see positive results if I used this service (PR, traffic, backlinks), or are directories not given much weight by search engines (Google in particular)? Anyone out there ever use a service like this, and if so, were you happy with the results? How did it effect your PR? ...Now that I've laid a thousand questions on the table ... Thanks in advance for your help!
I think submitting to Directories is essential when your link building, but remember to submit to directories that have a Higher PR than you and not lower. You can definetly expect to see positive results if the submissions are done correct, there is much more to just submitting your link to a directory tho. You need consider different variations of your ads you are submitting ( multiple titles, descriptions, keywords and mix and match on each submission , using strong anchor text etc so search engines pick it up ) - Also submit to around 10-15 a day, submitting too many in 1 day can only do you harm in my opinion, google might class it as spam and throw your site back in the sandbox. If you need any help, message me and I will guide you, I do Directory Submissions for people so I can definetly help.
Directory submission is a good way to acquire back links. But it depends on the quality of the directories you submit to. Using an SEO service allows you to concentrate on your business and leave the job to someone who knows how to do it. Look for a professional who will bring the best result to you. Like masterlogo said, acquire your back links gradually. Don't be in a rush.
I have one question for you, how much are you paying for it? you may be able to answer your own question.
The cost is less than $150 for about 1,000 manual submissions, so overall I think it's a good value. I just want to make sure that directory submissions are an effective way of boosting traffic, PR, and search engine rankings.
Well they do boost ranking over time. The traffic will come from better ranking of course. And if your doing other things to get backlinks too then you're going to see changes in pr. Obviously it makes more sense if the submission services allows for multiple descriptions and titles.
It's worth the money if you pick the right submission service, ideally one that's using a good directory list. And you also need to ensure your website is up to scratch before you do this, with no sections under construction or substandard content.
Hello... I know of atleast 3 sites that do nothing but submit to directories and got to the top for there given keywords as well as have great traffic going to them but i would suggest since you have a (niche) blog to do ALL Rss or blog directories. Ps.. I recommend inetzeal.com (manish) or world-click.com (dotcompals) thx malcolm
If you use different anchor texts your sites link popularity and rankings will surely increase. Btw there are many members who do 1k submissions from $20-50, so its not a big deal. Try to use atleast 10-20 different titles and 5-10 different descriptions to get best results.
How could we possibly know if you don't mention what the price is? On brand new domains you should expect to get PR1-2-3 on the next PageRank update. Don't expect a direct traffic from directories but your SERP will improve and thus your organic traffic will increase
"1,000 SEO-friendly directories" .... sounds more like a link farm to me. I read some posts by Matt Cuts where he was saying that getting into link farms and some bad directories can actually hurt you. So, unless you know each of those 1,000, I would worry.
@tomek2...That was the main issue that bothered me about the whole deal. I don't want to pay for a submission service if it will hurt me in the long run. That's why I'd like to find out if other people have had positive/negative experiences with a submission service. I'm definitely not going to drop $100+ on a service if it's going to hurt my blog in the SERPS!!!
well, eitelj99 .. how do you know they make a manual submission in the first place ? many of those are automatic, or semi-automatic submissions. The only manual thing , is that thing you are doing with your own hand, if you know what I mean
IF you are targeting right keyword that can divert traffic to your site; then you can earn other wise go again and decide some good keyword
Well, I decided to try out the manual submission service on a smaller scale to see if I get any results in the coming months. I paid for about 100 submissions, rather than the 1,000+, spread out over the next 5 weeks. I included 10 different variations for my blog description (http://promotehealth.info), so it will look much more natural to the search engines. I'm hoping these one-way links, along with my other marketing techniques, will push my blog into the PR1-2 range. We'll see!
