So I switched message board software & my search engine saturation went up by 1000%!

I'm shocked. I switched from a poorly designed Simple Machines Forum software to the newest VBulletin with very little work done to it, even had my site down for 3 weeks, and about a month after I got the new message board up and running, even though it had a ton of internal linking problems, my search engine saturation went up by 1000% and my link popularity went up about 25%!

My search engine saturation in Yahoo went up about 600%, and my search engine saturation in google went up 3000%!

My link popularity went up mostly due to yahoo more than doubling the links I had on their search engine (all since I switched to the new software).

I'm getting more visits from bots now too, a lot more.

I'm baffled and cannot come up with any other reason than the software. I even stopped marketing my site during this whole transition period.

Thats great! I was thinking about getting someone to change my forum over to VB after my contest ends so that piece of info has finalised my decision! :)

Am I using SEO? I really haven't applied anything other than making my hopepage static for the bots that come to the site, and adding keywords and titles to all the pages, adding a sitemap with keywords in it, and that's pretty much about it :)

    I'm pretty much computer illiterate.

    :D :D :D

It's kind of a touchy subject for many....it's probably best to say "hey there's a great site with tons of tasty healthy recipes." I find that to be less intrusive then to say hey, check out my obesity site.

I'm assuming you mean my homepage, and yes I agree. By default the site had a lot more stuff on there, but it was dynamic in nature so I took it down because I only want static stuff on the homepage. I plan on adding some more stuff in the future, but I just have not had time.

Head on over to vbadvanced.com and get familiar with the CMS. Why do you only want static content on the homepage? The search engines love fresh content.

My good buddy who is a master at SEO said google search engines didn't like dynamic content....at least not with his form of SEO....I think it's easier for him to SEO with static. The guys is a genious though, he gets all his clients to the front page of google.
