Today I put my blog URL into google and low and behold, I was indexed. I had written 4 articles and submitted each of them on 8 different article directories. If you enter the URL of my blog, all my articles are on the first page of google, which doesn't really mean that much. But it does show that google picks up on those URL anchor links. I would rather enter my keywords into google and have my blog come up on the first page. Here's my problem...I made a mistake (newbie talking here) by created 1 of my articles using the same keyword as my blog. So now if you enter my keyword into google, 1 of my articles come up on the first page of google, 9th position. I'm not sure how to check what position my blog is in. I've heard other users here say my website is in 65th position...What do you use to get this info? Anyway, this blog is sort of a live/learn experiment for when I really get into this stuff. I've read tons of posts, blogs, bought an ebook, and just recently the Micro Niche Finder. I'm trying different things to see what works/doesn't work in google. I'll use this experience after I find that magically keyword I can profit from. I've also kept a log each day of what I did and how my work shows up on the search engines. I'm only a newbie and been at this since 2/22/10. I can tell you all that it's hard work.... Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.. newpatch
You're definitely on the right track - Your doing what 98% of others don't and that's taking action! Keeping track of what you do is key - Keep up the good work! You should look into social bookmarking, video sites, and building links. Hope this helps,
It's "my keywords"... How is that a mistake? When you do anything online to make money... you should have a plan. You should have a purpose. I write my share of articles. It doesn't matter if the money comes from a blog I own or somewhere else. If you create your articles with the intention to sell and have the appropriate links in place it doesn't matter if they outrank your other properties.
Congrats on the indexing. My site indexed yesterday and I was pretty damn excited about it. Been at this since last sunday (March 7th) so its all a learning experience for me as well. Definitely a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I am enjoying the "fight" to get top ranking for my keywords. I've made some mistakes too, but it seems with this net stuff, while some seem costly, usually it can be fixed within a month or two. Good luck to you!
Congratulations on you blog indexes. Are you using CMS or self-programming site? If you use wordpress there's so much plugin that help you rank well in google. All in one SEo pack for example. U can use it to determine the home keyword and post keyword as well..
congratulations, you have done it. But I am still upset for my site. 7sk[dot]org is my site and I am trying my best to index it for such purposes I have used different web directories too. Please, I need guideline.
maybe you get google dance. It is normal for new website that experiencing fluctuative position on Google SERP. Keep building your content, and building your backlink NORMALLY, don't spam, and you will get better results after this.
I started using SEO Spyglass 2 weeks ago and I must say it's pretty powerfull to target the right places to put backlinks. You can spy on the competition and see where they have their backlinks, so it's a matter of doing better than them! The other tool they have is called Rank Tracker, and it shows your ranking on the keywords you enter.
