Who told you that I am not? ;)

That is the problem with people who all of sudden become "mature" and have an "opinion", they post about things that they know nothing about.

I can write 10 applications for becoming editor and I can guarantee that at least 7-8 of those application will be granted, unlike someone who applies 7 times and fails. :D

Don't spend your money. May be the 8th time will be the charm and they accept your application, so you can add it yourself. :p:D

It is very easy to understand. I am a human, I have reviewed more than 10,000 new editor applications, and therefore I can be considered to know quite a bit more about the process than you do. ;)
Let me say it again, very very clearly:
Every single new editor application is seen and read and considered by at least one volunteer, who then sends feedback based on their review.
There is no "automatic" review. None at all. Not ever.
The fact that some people seem unable to accept this information is certainly unfortunate, but I can't imagine why it is necessary or even useful to keep claiming it is not true.

    Mark,
Having just read about half dozen threads on the Resource Zone, read many inquiries about applications which ranged from 30 days to over 100 days.

    For Example:
    http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52457

Would you say these are the exception to the rule?

To repeat myself from the first page of this thread:
If that was not clear, I'll say it a different way: a handful of the many hundreds received every week may wait more than a few weeks for review, but by far the majority (meaning "many-hundreds-each-week-except-a-few") are reviewed within hours, days or up to a couple of weeks of being submitted.

THIS ARE JUST LYIES TO COVER THE DIRTY :) Amanda and I hope you understand how much time you are trying to keep same lyies ( even if is not your lyies and you import them from the directory .... )

With the corruption and dictatorial way how ODP promote their listing service , and the way how you guy's choose to '' share the love '' it's hard to believe someone really care about this damn it crap spam link directory . This is only bullshits about keeping an official advertising campaign ! Just with the reason to keep public interest about the directory alive , to increase the revenue generated for peoples with you colaborate ( for example mods from this forum ) ...

Understand how this thing are :
    1. ON THE FKIN DIRECTORY ARE LISTED SPAM SITES - THEY ARENT CHANGED SINCE THEY WAS ADDED THERE AND SINCE THEY WAS BUILD !
    2. EDITORIAL SHITS ARE ONLY TO COVER THE FKIN DIRTY WAY HOW THE SPAM LINKS ARE ADDED THERE
    3. FAULT FOR ALL THIS DIRTY COME FROM THE TOP PEOPLES AND COME DONW ON THE THREE JUST BECAUSE THEY CANT BROKE THEIR USERNAMES , THEY ARE USING ALIAS - DOUBLE USERNAMES TO EDIT THE DAMN IT SPAM LINKS.

ALL this lyies with rules and so on aren't true ! you guys just keep this saying over and over just to keep the interest of webmasters who are only one who are interested about the directory for the damn it links . THIS LYIES come from top management peoples . DMOZ editors and seniors and meta cat editors control mods on this forum , or they can be mods on this forum just to cover some of the dirty .

Well you are right Mark, those are the exception,
Today I got back my latest rejected application to edit.

Again a form letter with zero reviewer comments:

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Open Directory Project editor.
After careful review, we have decided not to approve your application at
this time. The most common reasons a reviewer will deny a new application
include, but are not limited to,

    * Incomplete application. Insufficient information has been provided in some
fields including reason, affiliation and/or Sample URLs.

Highly unlikely, also submitted like 92 affiliations past and present

    * Improper spelling and grammar.

    Nope sorry

    * Sample URLs are inappropriate for the category which one has applied to
edit. They may be too broad, too narrow, completely out of scope, poor
quality, or in a language inappropriate for the category. All non-English
sites are listed in the World category. Applications for World categories
that include sites only in English will be denied. Likewise, applications
for World categories that include sample URLs in languages other than the one
appropriate for the applied category will be denied.

    Please

    * Not properly disclosing affiliations with websites that are, or have the
potential of being, listed in the category.

My disclosure was way too much, included websites I have not been involved in for years

    * Titles and descriptions of sample URLs (and other information provided)
were subjective and promotional rather than unbiased and objective. ODP
editors do not rank or write website reviews. ODP editors provide objective
and unbiased descriptions of websites and their content.

    Again not applicable

    * Self-Promotion. Application which leads us to believe that the candidate is
interested primarily in promoting his/her own sites or those with which the
applicant is affiliated. The ODP is not a marketing tool, and should not be
used to circumvent the site submission process. If this is an applicant's
motivation for joining, then we ask him/her not to apply. Editors found to be
inappropriately promoting their own site will be promptly removed.

Not likely that this would be my motivation overall, however since I am one of the experts on the topic I applied for and have an educational website on the topic and disclosed that it was mine and I would be adding it like the editors here suggested

Due to the large number of applications we get every day, we are unable to
provide personal responses to every application or to respond to inquiries
about why you were rejected. If a reviewer chose to provide additional
comments to you, they will be given in the "Reviewer Comments" section below.

Your willingness to volunteer is greatly appreciated and perhaps we will be
able to utilize your talent in the future.

    Regards,
    The Open Directory Project

    Reviewer Comments:

    Not a single comment

What a arbitrary crock of crap.

I gather your plan of joining ODP and changing it, didn't work. What are you planning to do now? shut up as you suggested.:D

Now go and apply to become an editor as I told you how and you will be most likely accepted in your first try. ;)

Yep, all applications are rejected by human being (that is if anyone considers meta to be humans, my guess from the way they treat/hate other humans they must be cylons :p) and everyone gets nice generic e-mail which tells them nothing same as with removed editors.

You actually expected reply that isn't generic junk? They only get creative when they start name calling anyone who says anything against them.
