Thank you for the link, amoeba.
I will start removing the images. Losing one third of the earnings is not comparable to losing the account :) And the bottom line is: this is their company and they do what they see correct.

I removed it for half a day and had only 10% of the usual income. Rough estimate since I dont have that many impressions but that sucks.

I removed it long ago :) .. cause you never know when the ads happen to display something that is related to your image :) instead of the other way round.. hehe

I never really seen them increase my CTR any but maybe that is because I target semi-educated webmasters which shouldn't be stupid enough to think that the image matches the ads while internet dummies might. That is what this was targeted to and that is why google killed it.

I might take half of the images away, that way they're not 'associated' with the ads

Better to have some income than no income because you try to wiggle around the rules.

It sounds like you can keep the images if they dont make your visitors think they are somhow related to the ads. Is this the kind of thing that G will ban you for. Dont they give a warning 1st, seems like a gray area.

I'll be choosing another solution or just dropping ads completely (more likely). I have realized over time that the benefit of no ads for visitors far outweighs the benefits (in my case). The only thing I'll miss from google ads will be the videos ads...

Already removed them when I got a warning for my arcade site...to my surprise though the CTR didn't drop by much, on one site remained the same...just play with the ad colors :)

We all have the same feeling. And believe me, the ads look bald and odd without the images :(
I don't know my sites anymore
