Now i hear about sites getting donations in millions of dollars. I'm a small guy starting a huge business very shortly, site should be released in about 2 -3 months time. I know the first year will be very tough for me, im already cutting down on things, selling things i won't need, eating the cheapest food i can find. How would a good site go about finding a donation? it doesn't have to be million dollars, a couple thousand would be great, would help me start up the site without financial worries, instead i could spend time on further development and other things such as this. So if anyone can let me know how can i find donations / investments and where should i start looking for one. I think my site will be unique and a site that will grow strong. Thanks in advance.
Write up a sound business plan. Have a unique idea and a model that makes money in a short amount of time and find yourself some venture capital. Don't ask for handouts. Make sure they understand that they can make 10 times their money back and consider your site an excellent investment. Good luck finding a VC though
Huge well established websites who get millions of donations offer great services to millions and billions of people. They have a huge amount of traffic, and offer these services for free, (else they would not be asking for domations). You will have to make a well established site and offer something really valuable ans useful to be able to start getting donations from your sites.
