With respect I believe there are many other evaluations that need to be taken into consideration No other product that I am aware of is judged by a single factor, and as such Directories are no different many factors come into the evaluation process
No Dir can be judged at only PR i know mate. I am asking just that previously We say Pr6 or 7 to be high Pr dirs but now the concept has to be changed to match up the things with GOOGLE
Sure understand maybe that will take a few more days to see what the rates are as the shuffle seems ongoing and in-complete
Yes I also think that PR is not the only metric for directories. I feel that pr5 + will be really good now, with respect to the current update.
I'm still a little puzzled by a seeming anomaly in my non-directory website's new PR: • I have a ton of links from directories (lots of other links, too). • A significant portion of my former PR4 was, I think, attributable to PR juice from those directories. • In today's toolbar export I rose to a PR5. • I would have predicted that the seemingly broad reduction of directory PRs would have had the ripple effect of lowering my PR, but instead it went up. I'm not complaining, but I am curious.
Thats great for your site Jim I think that your query is valid, there on first glance does not seem to be uniformity, but the results do have all the hallmarks of human pruning in many cases and if that were ever found to be the case then the whole integrity and viability of this seemingly flawed system Would in fact crash down to the floor in a pile of rubble
Jim, I noticed your PR5 site ealier today when I did a quick PR update in my directory listings. I am not surprised about the jump in PR considering the number backlinks you have. All that tells me directory backlinks are as strong as it has ever been. In fact some of my own websites mostly supported by 99.99% backlinks from directories noticed increased in PR. I know this is not a good news for "workshop" and other directory haters.
A long before all of them here said that PR is good metric for directories and only quality directories would have higher PR and low quality ones would have less PR. After this PR reversal trend now all of them are reversing their statements and saying that PR is not a metric for directories.. Very weird statements... The Quality of directories only depend upon on quality of listings and nothing more than that!
Jim, it may have something to do when Google did their "snap shot". It's hard to tell with all the "penalties". I know a few that didn't do any link building the received a nice boost and some that did significant link building that appear to have gone down and some that you would think would hold have been reduced. We never can come close to figuring out what G is up to especially this time
I think now PR6+ is very hard to get now I have only 6 PR6 domains and one PR7 and I think that prices will go up! And only 3 PR6 directories so I will sell links there for 50-70$ soon I will make new thread at link sales where I will sell special pack (3 PR6 blog posts + 2 PR6 listings on directories for only 100$).
I agree 100% Pete. I'm certainly happy for those that are seeing a positive movement so don't take me wrong but from appearance, there seem to be more that your normal "update" afoot. If things are not being evaluated evenly across the board then to me that's a serious problem with Google's integrity/trust and pretty much nullifies any thing positive I have remaining for PR.
Just noticed a site of ours that is less than a month old, no promoting, no back links, that has just come in at PR2 That is a Joke That should be PR0 NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS
I don't think PR is very important for directories nowadays, there is just too much trouble in chasing it and it is very expensive and with all the drops on high PR sites lately I don't think you will get a good ROI. Being indexed, ranking well for selected keywords and traffic are much more important than what the little green bar says. Do something unique, special, interesting with your directory and in the long-term you will be rewarded.
You think? I see them having 2 indexes ... the real one ...... and thier personal downgraded version when a bidding directory gets a pr 4 and your best sites get PR3 then you know they have issues ... Very sad indeed laterz malcolm
