I have a few sites which I used to get a few thousand weights. However, recently, it has dropped to a few hundreds. Using the DP backlink tracker, site 1 shows 5,670 pages in Google (last updated on Jun 13, 2005). This site has PR 0 and only has 320 weight. Site 2 shows 14,400 pages in Google. It has PR 0 and only has 368 weight. Is this normal? Thanks.
The visual drop could be down to last month's weight calculation/display change. DP Back Link tracker's site: count isn't updated unless PR changes. So you'll need to delete and re-add for a fresh count or use another tool that quesries the API to get an accurate pagecount. 99.99% change you'll find your weight to be accurate and fair.
When is recently as the weighting system changed a while ago? Also, you have to delete the url from the tracker and re-enter it for an accurate and up to date count. Try that and post back your numbers. <added> Blasted T0PS lol<added>
I'll repeat my procedure. I keep www.shoplagom.com in the backlink tracker for history and add/delete www.shoplagom.com/ to get the actual page count. The extra slash "/" makes it a different URL in back link tracker but not in the API.
Ok, I tried adding a slash on one of the site and add it to backlink tracker. Looks like the calculation is correct. The pages in Google has dropped from 5670 to 281. ;-(
