Yep gotta blend the ads... the less they look like ads, the more likely it is that people will click on them.

Is google trying to say that we did not blended and its why our adsense earnings are low now?

When you design your AdSense ads, keep these tips in mind:

Use colours that either blend with or complement your site's colours. Make the ads a part of your site.
    Code (markup):
i'm a true believer of blending and it works well for me

Blending is not applicable all the time... it depends on how to balance the colors..

Weren't we ding this from long back? My visitor seems to have developed a filter for these 'blended' ads so now i have apallet that rotates different color some blending with with site's color and some giving contrast to them.

I have studied art for years so i guess it looks beautiful that way, and my earnings are great so far.

Indirectly related.. Ads that are not well-matched (in terms of appearance) to your site will receive lesser clicks.. hence, less earnings.

I never participated in blending ( hiding ) ads
    but in
"complement your site's colors." - since years.

my results are by very far above average ( around 2 digits ecpm / ctr depending on season )

I find it useful to have / see relevant ads on pages I search in Google when I have a problem and search for solutions - but I find it annoying to see hidden / blended colors such as THIS DP forum. I never used any of these links - too much time needed to actually SEARCH for Google ad links / blended ads.

I always blend in content ads but have found I get a higher CTR for un-blended on the sidebar that stick out slightly more.

I have always blended my ads because it seemed obvious that you would recieve more clicks this way. But not that there is evidence to the contrary, I'll have to re-examine my logic and maybe start a couple experiments to see what works better for me. Thanks for the tips because otherwise I would of never tried this otherwise.

    Blending Ads definitely fails.

It looks crap and will not result in a lot of clicks. Match the colors which your website's layout and you will be able to expect more clicks.

Read my previous DP post about the factors that influence your CTR.
