I've only just been dipping my fingers in the new social group plugins here for VB, and wondering what everyone's take on it is. I noticed there were no local groups to my area, I'm from Victoria, BC, Canada, and looking to do more local (as well as international) networking, so I created a local group for my province here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/group.php?groupid=320 I hope I'm allowed to post that link, I read the updated forum rules lately and I didn't notice anything to the contrary. Cheers.
Frankly speaking when things are new people look at it but after sometimes very less people keep following social groups
Well I'm not really concerned about getting members. I'm just interested in it to a degree, and wondering if I should put any time or energy into it at all. I've seen people starting to use it a bit now, so if the majority here is going to follow suit, I figure maybe I should too, but I don't really see the benefits here the way it's laid out. My 2 cents.
Frankly mumbling when things are new fill appear at it but after sometines really fewer grouping stay following party groups.
I would like to make some groups, and get some people together, that work towards common goals. If this interests people, we should talk about it. I think some good ideas are to offer links for people, two heads are better than one and it's good to have people to bounce ideas off of. I think it's a good idea to bounce ideas off people who are knowledgeable in the currently applicable situation. Groups help facilitate a lot more success. Some people can't work well together. Link minded individuals working together do well. If we worked more withing groups, there would be less negativity and fighting in the forums. Less bans and policing. Less problems. Think about it. Get my posts pinned, start spreading the word and this kind of reputation around. We need a more positive atmosphere here and less problems. Good people are getting turned away from DP because of problems that can be avoided. Cheers!
