I recently re organized my keywords for a campaign and suddenly they were all slapped with $5 minimum bid. What makes me confused is the fact that my keywords from my old/paused campaign are not disabled. Does this mean my keywords will say at $5 minimum forever?

I think we might need a bit more data - what all do you mean by "re-organized"? Did you delete some, add some? Did you change anything else about the campaign - ad text, link location, landing page, etc?

Generally, unless your whole domain has been "slapped", a 5$ bid means you need to increase quality score, by making your landing page, ad text, and ad keywords more relevant & cohesive.

well i had keywords spread out in 30 groups. I wanted to make the list smaller so I paused all 30 groups and created 10 extra groups filled with keywords that actually got clicks. Next thing I know the keywords have a $5 min on them.

Ah, makes sense. I'm guessing perhaps that the keywords in those 30 groups were a little more closely related (had at least 1-2 words in common?), and then you created the 10 groups who had a little less in common?

30 groups isn't so bad a trade off, really. You might consider just eliminating the groups of those 30 that didn't get as many clicks, or narrowing down the lists for better CTR. Go0gle probably slapped you for not having enough relevance/group when it came to your total QS.
