Can this work when a seller wants to selling a domain on flippa and Sedo - just to get a feel, for the type of price people are willing to pay for it...

    Here is the idea

You have a domain (GoodDomain) dot com, but rather than the auction bidding war happening and you sell to the high bidder- you do this method, so that you know what people were willing to pay for it.

Step (1) You list (GoodDomain) dot com, and set it to a very very high reserve ($750,000) - to a high level, on purpose, - an amount you know bidders will NOT bid as high as

Step (2) Let the bidding war happen, (lets say 20 bidders bid)

Step (3) AS the reserve would NOT have been met (as you made it high - on purpose) then you will NOT have a winner

STEP (4) Now what you do is, just view these bids, to see how much your domain could potentially be worth

    Lets say:

    Joe bidded $980,
    Mike bidded $2000,
    Jen bidded $4000,

Auction ended, Jen gave the hightest bid ($4000) (it is not 20 bidders, but 3 for simplicity here)

so then as Jen did not meet the reserve, the seller knows what type of price the domain would potentially sell for.

and then after this, do the same on Sedo (for the same domain)
-unless you can list on Sedo and Flippa at the same time?

So this is just an 'estimate' strategy,
It would just be done a few times, on some domains to get a feel for what price bidders are willing to pay for it.

how does it sound do you?

Why do this? so that the seller can see if they get enough profit selling it here, compared to approaching a bunch of brokers,
or just for a rough estimate

    a) Have you personally done this style of method before?
(even if just for a few domains)

    b) Do people do this type of method?

    c) What are the advantages of this method?

    d) What are the disadvantages of this method?
    *wasting a fee?

    SNEAKY PART...??
    e)
After the auction has ended, can you contact Jen in 1-2 weeks, to offer her the domain, through private messaging? (if you want to let her have it for $4000)

    f) can you sell the same domain on the auction sites Sedo and flipper at the same time ?

can you try your best, to give answers to a) b) c) d) e) f) , Thank you
