Who would want to write a personal letter and having you see it? I just can't imagine anyone using this kind of service

 

It don't really have to be a personal letter, I mean someone could just say "Hi", meh I will try and find a way so no one has to see the letter.. there must be some hardware that prints and evelopes. I always make random Beta sites (sometimes they work, sometimes they don't)

We shall see .

 

And then what? Lets say for some unkown reason you do have some success with it... where are you going to get the paper and envelopes? And how are you going to send them? I mean, you will need $$$ for that, how are you going to earn it with this site?

I think it's a pretty cool idea. Quite amusing too.

I am not sure if it will make it big but if featured on some geek news sites, you'll get some decent traffic and word-of-mouth (even if it is a one-time shot).

I personally would be reluctant to use the service as I'd be weary of opening my and the receipient's doors to more junk mail. Your privacy policy states that you don't do that sort of stuff, but any visitor will wonder: 'how do they make money?'

 

You also don't know the legal issues involved. You may be involved in a felony without even knowing it. What if I sent a letter that was actually code for something. Do you want the legal vulnerability?

It is kinda a cool idea but would be a nightmare to actually do.

 

Which is exactly why it's not a good idea. Well it might be a good idea but I think you're really putting yourself at risk.

I really couldn't see a big need for a site like that. I mean maybe if you themed it up a little or made a niche for it like:

"Is your brother in jail and you've moved, but don't want him to know where you are. Send him letters through us."

"Want to send someone a prank email that they're going to jail or are being sued? Use prank mail."

Of course you'll probably actaully end up in jail though.

 

The only way this would be succesful is if the letters were sent looking like this:

 

I took in your views and could see that this site would fail and just cost to much to run aswell as privacy issues.

Heck I make at least 1 site a day that is totaly random, and what DB? (Im sure I know but just woke up)..
