SMS API provider

I've got a project coming up that's going to need a global, reliable and well supported SMS gateway. We're talking potentially 1000s of messages a month so it'll need to be a relatively big player and it does need to be worldwide.

Interface should be via an API and able to offer decent return info such as cost, delivery details, etc. via that API.

Anyone used anyone that fits this bill or gets close? There seem to be quite a few out there but I'll take personal experience over a flashy website any day.

I haven't used one, but the only one that intrigued me is http://www.mobilemarketing.net/

The reason that one intrigued me was because of the keyword sharing. You may not be into that, but for funding reasons that would be the route I started out with. PM me if you want to discuss it and I'll share what I've researched.

I use clickatell. I hope this is good enough for you, they offer many different solutions. For me the 0.6 pence per text is good enough

Thanks for the replies, folks. We've experimented with Clickatell but I have to say I'm less than impressed with their support and their documentation could do with some updating.

I'll check out tm4b and mobilemarketing...

I've been using http://www.jaiku.com/ . Not sure if they can handle your volume or not, but they were bought by Google, so it's a pretty safe bet.
