Smowtion - are their ads decent?

After having some bad experiences with smaller networks (mainly users complaining about redirects and even those nasty so-called anti-virus download pages that are really mal-wares), I am back to the drawing board and starting safe with Adsense and Adbrite.

Now, is Smowtion ok from this perspective? I really don't want ANY redirects and especially not any ads with mal-wares. Has anyone had bad experience with Smowtion?

I've noticed that they don't count every pageviews as impressions. I am going to look carefully and try to find out how they count impressions. But at the moment, I am more concerned about the quality of the ads (well, at least any presence of re-directs and mal-wares).

What about the quality of their ads? Did any of your user complain about re-directs?

they don't have any redirects or malwares, and they give a kinda good cpm rate.

That's good to know. I've already used them briefly and even during that time I realized even though their CPM rate looks pretty good, they don't count all impressions. Unfortunately they don't have an option to specify a default URL so it will be a bit challenging to properly optimize the REAL CPM rate based on the number of impressions sent to them.

Been using them about a year. Not one single redirect or malware/virus ad. And their ads have never been anything that could offend my visitors (you know, like promoting porn sites)

Not sure how many advertisers they have, the two most popular ads catagories I see displayed on my blogs are poker ads and ads about saving the environment.

As has been mentioned they do not count every impression and they do pay quite low.

Have you tried AdsDaq? Pretty much the same kind of thing as Smowtion. Again no redirects or malware/virus problems. Similar CPM rate though.

Unfortunately I couldn't get into ADSDAQ because they were looking for sites that they can contextualize. My site isn't as easy since although it is highly vertical, it is not article driven.

But I am glad to hear that Smowtion ads are free from bad stuff. I will give them another shot. Does anyone know how they count impressions? Do they also count only uniques?

Yes I believe this. Impressions they count exceed # of impressions I get from US alone. What I am not sure is how they count impressions. They are not terrible but not 100% either. It's definitely more than # of unique visits though.

Does anyone know how they count them? Perhaps they limit how many impressions per session?

I ain't that happy with Smowtion, they don't really count the ads really well, at least that's what I saw when I tried them a while back.
