Any ideas how to quit smoking? I tried like 10 different ways so far...

Personal experience is more than welcomed here.

It's weired you say that. I usually smoke 20 a day.

I've had 1 in the last 3 days. My motivation to stop, and the best method: Become skint :D

I have not had a cig for 4 weeks the other week. I just quit cold turkey. I just got really angry at myself and thought that i can not have a little stick controlling my life. So i just quit. The worst thing about nicotine replacement is that... well... How can you quit something by taking more of it just in a different form?

Cravings don't last long. First few days are quite bad and then you should be fine. Just don't smoke.

    -edit-

Another thing that helped. Go and find pictures on the net of people with lung cancer.

To me its just you who can stop smoking. But you must have a strong will/power to do so. I myself tried it but think I dont have such power. My Dad used to smoke and he quit after 25 years... I wish I could do so ...:(

take a hammer, wack every finger with it, if you can light one up after that, you'll never give up

I always succeed for several days (it happened three times so far) and then when something very good happens to me I buy a little cigar (only one)... from then on... it deteriorates.

I watched some lung cancer photos - it was awful but didn't help me.

My dad too, but after 40 years... now he is cleen for 5 years so far...

But then I won't be able to drive. I like it so much to lit a cigarrette while driving...:D

That's exactly what I'm doing... I smoke quit much.

Lucky that he has such a strong will power.

I do that but not that much - 3 sets of 10 times each hand with a 7KG weight, daily.

I also started running after many years. I'm not good as I used to be in the past...

Working out, eating properly, after awhile your body doesn't like any 'crap' you feel like shit from even seeing, thinking or smelling a cigarette, or grease for that matter.

Have goals, chew gum, will power.

I used to smoke a packet a day - gave up in 2001 using nicotine patches.
