How an Egyptian student came to study 1950s America and left determined to wage holy war

The answer (found on the last page) might surprise you.

 We... lack culture? Appreciation of art? Jokes? Salt on watermelon is barbaric? All news to me.

Imagine if the barber was eating a ham sandwich while he cut his hair! But for the grace of god.

He felt inadequate around muscular men and became frustrated with his haircuts. How quaint.

Which leads me to another thought, were the World Trade Towers phallic symbols for these inadequate men who become frustrated they cannot build such monuments, culture and accomplishments as American men?

Is Israel in all it's beauty a sore reminder of surrounding Islamic failures?

If not for blind luck of sitting on huge reserves of oil would the middle east be even more a disaster? Does knowledge of these facts fuel their fear of Americans and anger about inadequacy towards men who accomplish such great deeds of science, technology, space and culture?

In other words are they just angry because they feel inadequate compared to Americans?

Before the Fejehaden (sp?) were disposed of, soldiers would insult their manhood to get them so angry that they would get out from their hiding place and end up dead.

It is all about inadequecy. That's why they treat their women the way they do. The men are all insecure assholes.
