I have got a couple of offers in a last few days for my new SMF Webmaster forum.

How much would you offer? I would surely sell it if I get a good offer.

    Website: http://smfusers.com
It’s an Internet Marketing & Search Engine Forums dedicated to SMF webmasters world wide.

    641 ..

It got indexed on google before 2 weeks. And will take about a month for it to show a page rank. Infact, a couple of sites running SMF forums have linked to the site.

I initially showcased the site on the the main SMF community (Simple machines). I then invited a couple of people to join. The forum has about 6 global moderators and about 18 local moderators who make it an active place.

I was offered a little less than 300 USD. I just wanted to get a feel of how much this site is actually worth before selling it. Now that many people have linked to this site (for free, a few have even placed a link on the homepage of their sites). The recent vistors to the site are from the main SMF site and the sites that's linking to smfusers.com . The next page rank update should help bring in more traffic.

$300 is a pretty good offer for a new site like that, personally though I'd hang onto it and develop it if you're starting to build natural links like that.

I would hang onto it. It looks to me like it is well set up and has a core user base. I would promote it hard and let it grow.

The problem with selling a brand new site is that you are selling nothing but potential and a little scripting. The traffic base here looks like it will come, but who knows? Because of the uncertainty, the bids tend to be lowball as the buyer can easily end up owning a URL and a dead forum.

If you run it for a year, and get steady growth in the user base and steady growth in the number of posts, the selling price should be a multiple of what you are looking at now.

LIAR!!!!! You spammed ALOT, and now everyone hates that site. That is why you are selling it. Matter of fact she spammed so much, by the third day she had 450 registered member which 70% signed up thinking it was an official SMF site, when they find out it wasnt they asked how she got their emails. She didnt reply so evertone pretty much left. This site is HIGHLY frowned upon by the SMF community.

Whenever people asked how you got their emails you simply banned them!

Comeon, I have just banned 2 people who acted wired. One was a global moderator (Isaac) who was not very friendly with members and another guy was banned for posting disturbing images.. I would not be surprised if you were one of them...

If it was a site that people didn’t like.. I wouldn't have had around 4k posts, 20 moderators, over 20 member sites linking back.

And in the "Announcement" section, we made it very clear that we are in no way related to the main SMF community...

Infact, the very invite concept was debated on smfusers.com when it cameup in the main SMF community and the Webmasters who joined were convinced with it.

For one, I am neither. I am "lordmenace"

    2. All those "backlinks" came from people trying to figure out why the hell they were getting spam emails from your site and how you got them.

    3. You may have put in the forum announcements that you werent affiliated, but the spam emails you sent out didnt say so.

    4. Maybe the site will be successful now that the head spammer is gone.

Invited a few people? You spammed hundreds of people with the link, and they thought it was the official SMF forums. Then you made a few people moderators to keep them active. I knew this had to all be a big scam.

Yup it's a scam, he spammed lots of people telling them to register there.. including me although i have 100% NOTHING to do with that site.
I remember a similiar thread on the official SMF forum about this. My advice: skip this!

    //edit
the thread is a few post above me..

I am very sorry this occurred. We at preCharge are deeply apologetic to all the people who feel that they feel they were in this situation. We have honored all remove requests and continue to compensate members for their troubles with our continued support and contest.

We've spoken to the people at SMF and have made our position clear and they have cleared preCharge and represented to everyone that we are here to assist them in this matter.

Rest assured in our future forum acquisitions, we will ensure a better transition.
