SMF, is it a good idea?

Hi

I want to have a hide hack system installed and just search for a mod on SMF and they do have one, and its free to use

So i wanna ask, is SMF worth it ? will i get any spam bots posting spam like they do in mybb?

any of you tried it, let me know what you think

I've used mybb and I've never had any spambots.

 

No forum is abosolutely free from bots though. It depends on how ant-spam measure was taken

 

I've used SMF for months and I haven't had a single spam bot.

SMF is the best free forum IMO.

I really don't like how they code the software to prevent you from making any changes to the footer in the forum section. BOO, that is a major turn off to me.

 

You can edit the footer section as much as you want. Just not the copyright, which is fair in my opinion. Take a look at my website http://www.adminfuel.com/

I have modified the footer heavily there, everything works fine.

 

i cast my vote for SMF --have about 800 users and not a single spam bot

 

smf works great ..... near zero spam bot compared to phpbb hundreds

 

SMF is really good. It's one of the best free forums, along with phpBB.

I have had over 30,000 hits on my SMF forum, no spam as of yet.

There are about 5 or 6 bot blocker/anti spam mods out there so theres alot to pick from.

 

SMF has become of the best open source forum after phpbb

 

In my opinion SMF is the best free forum and I didnt hear about SMF getting spam bots .

 

SMF better than phpbb2 but I go for vbulletin.

There will be lots of modded phpbb3 around, like www.nuke-evolution, which has annouced that they'll move from PHP-Nuke to phpbb3. I can't wait

 

SMF is stable, secure and free. It has a strong support community. The software is always updated.
