I know that SMF has a checkbox that enables search engine friendly urls, but it doesn't turn the urls into keyword rich strings, but instead just looks like "topic,3.0.html". Is there a better plugin or mod that will do this?
yourdomain.com/forum/this-is-my-first-topic.html pages look spammy, i would rather have yourdomain.com/forum/topic,3.0.html
yourdomain.com/forum/SMF-Forum-Search-Engine-Friendly-Urls-Mod.html A url like that might look spammy but it's not. It helps search engines index your site appropriately and search engine users find that relevant content.
Thanks, but that mod doesn't seem to be any better than what is built into the latest version of the script now.
Well, I think it'll happen soon enough - as more and more people switch to 1.1 RC or otherwise. SMFSEO are after betatesters for the 1.1 version of the hack, so it's looking good. SMF have already told the developer that he cannot resell this hack, and he has still gone ahead with it on that basis, so good on him. He deserves our support.
Well, at smfseo.org there's still no stable release out for 1.08 and nothing even in the works for 1.3 RC. Is anyone else working on this mod?
Did any one of you got the solution to this? I am also planning to try doing this so any help will be appreciated.
