    Hi, i dont SEO but would like to make my SMF forum(the forum is for freelance writers) optimized..

    when i view the page source it reads (i am writing first few lines only, as they are more important):

    <meta name="description" content="Contentfully - Index" />

    <meta name="keywords" content="PHP, MySQL, bulletin, board, free, open, source, smf, simple, machines, forum" />

    my questions:

    1. what can I modify in this to make it google friendly.

    2. Can i modify them thru my SMF admin panel or do i have to modify my theme files??

    Thanks.

    If you head over to the SMF main website, there are a variety of things you can do. You can download several packages that will carry out the jobs you require for SEO, Like META Description and SEO4SMF (People have trouble getting this to work sometimes).

    When installing most MODs, you will have to modify any themes other than the default, as changes are not applied to other themes :)
