After 3 release candidates and months upon months of waiting since the release of RC3, SMF has today finally announced it's final release of SMF 1.1. This comes as much awated and good news for those of us still hanging on to the older versions.

I installed it yesterday on a new forum. I'm still running 1.0.8 on my other forum. SMF 1.1 is great. I changed the default theme and got the forum built from scratch plus made all the graphics in less than 4 hours.

Yeah, I guess the difference between RC3 and 1.1 Gold were just a few bug fixes, so most of the RC3 mods and themes should work with the final release.

Ive got a problem with the header and footer mod. Everytime I put anything in it it comes up twice. Any ideas of what I can do?

global header footer mod has always been a little buggy for me and i have seen a few others with problems attributed to that mod. perhaps directly editing the smfheader.php and the smffooter.php instead of doing it through the admin panel will help. the ad management mods works great, also board notes.

Im only new to all the coding stuff so the only way I can do it is through the admin panel. I would love the ad management mod to work but I dont have the default theme.
