    I searched google for this term and did find an entry that leads to your site at number 8. However, the url listed there isn't smcars.net, it's niel.seyanim.com/modules/mylinks/visit.php?cid=1&lid=30. Do you have an explanation for this?

    Also, I only count 1,530 results when searching for site:smcars.net on google.

    Im not familiar with simplemachines forums - how resource intensive are they? What type of hardware are you hosting this site on? What type of hosting would you recommend?

    It is not resource intensive at all. It is running SMF because of it not being resource intensive, it used to run phpbb but it was to intense for the servers it was on before. It's hosted on imhosted.com using a quad xeon @ 3ghz with 4gb ram and there is no problems there. The site total is around 5GB.

    Can't explain why that is happening. The position in google has dropped because of switching hosts so much due to needing one that was reliable enough to host such a large site. A lot of the indexed pages are pointing to the old phpBB forum. This could be fixed easily. There are virtually no backlinks going to the site, that has never been done, getting backlinks for it. The whole site got so large due to word of mouth pretty much. Also, Microsoft's developers of Project Gotham Racing 2 used the site for resources in designing the cars in that game. There are a few other company's who have used the site to for that purpose.

    Googlerankings.com reports it as #21 in google, #1 in MSN and YaHoO

    Just wanted to let everyone know, the average # of users who register in a day is around 65. Over 1500 new users a month. So theoretically, there could be around 15,000 new members in 1 year.
