What are some ways you experienced to reset this smart pricing? Change channels? Remove all channels? Anything?

Perhaps you should give it a bit more time and see what happens.

    That's quite the drop there.

What some people are doing, is dropping down to one ad unit on each page...that way less ads means less low paying ads. I have'nt done that..not too sure about it. But you could always try it.

The best way to defeat smart pricing is to update content regularly.

My revenue has doubled, and I do update daily. What is smart pricing?

How do you know which ads do you not perform well? There is no way to know how much you would make on each ad click.

you can tell which ad units do not perform well by using channels. I think that's what the poster was talking about.

I think ablaye meant removing all ads on underperforming sites...

I'm about ready to shift a bunch of my ads over to YPN. The .01 clicks really piss me off.

I can't confirm this, but if you are not allowing site targeted buys you might want to allow them and see where your eCPM goes.

At the very least it creates additional upward price pressure on your clicks.

That does not mean turning "on" (if you turned it off) the "advertise on this site" message. It means allowing targeted buys - but you know - I just went in to my AdSense admin area and can't find the selection choice for CPM or targeted ads - did they remove this? Did you need to write support to turn this on/off?

Hmmmm. I'm getting them myself and I think they help support the CPC prices.

What do you mean "allowing site targeted buys" and how do you allow this?

    A 1000% drop is impossible. A 100% drop takes you to 0.

Allowing an AdWords advertiser to buy CPM runs on your site. They bid and if their projected eCPM is as high or higher than available CPC keyword ads the ad displays. This puts upward pressure on your total inventory raising your site value. Make sense?

I think this is on by default but you can encourage it by turning on the "Advertise on this site" feature in your admin area of AdSense.
