So i think this is smart pricing. A few weeks back to my amazement i check my adsense acount and see $220 for the day. wooo hooo, i was in heaven and couldnt believe it. So this continued for a awhile. Google now owes me $3500 which is great. I had some high paying clicks. Now for the last 4-5 days im getting nutting, same ads and i have about 13 clicks today and made 1.29. Sup wit dat!! THe worst part is I set up some advertising to start today which cost me some $$$. I did a PR yesterday and get this, from that PR i have alrady done 2 radio interviews, one in the US and one in London, and have 4 more scheduled. Its friggin great, but its killing me that google is doing this. Really sux. The traffic will be great, but i need to throw some affiliates up there now. ANyone have any ideas or what ads I can put up that pay by the impression. Help i Have an interview at 4ish with a huge station and dont want to miss out on the traffic!!
    Thanks

You can't do anything that will remove smartpricing within a few hours, it's recalculated on a weekly basis.

13 clicks for $1.29 would be a lot for me without smartpricing :) One of my sites made $10 yesterday on 256 clicks.

Yeah i got spoiled. Not to brag but that day i came home it said $220 for the day. This was dec 9th by the next day when it was all tallied up it was like this

    56,142 impressions, 56 clicks and 339.00$
So yes now im spoiled. I really lucked out on the niche. Ill see how long googles keeps this up them maybe ill give that site out. Driving me nuts though!!!
I guess all you can do is take the ads off the site for a week right? Will it go back to normal? HTanks

How can you get $220 one day and only $1.29 today. It just does not make sense. The gap is far too wide.

This looks like more than smart pricing going on. Did you CTR drop as well?

ok so for today im at 10,015 impressions 16 clcicks and 4.06 earned so far.

    CTR is at .16%

Really drives me nuts. I could also imagine that the publishers who were paying this high amounts per click could have wised up and said hey we can set this at .10 and still show up lol, but who knows. Driving me nuts!! thats for sure. I thought retirement was near. Any one have any ideas for other affilates where ican get per click or per impressions?

in the last week an unfinished site of mine got 20 clicks and made over $27.00. the url is http://www.homeusersecurity.com

But i've used adsense for a couple years now and I've never experienced this smart pricing that everyone is talking about.

Yeah it sux. I new i was on to something whe i started getting these new ads. They really had nothing to do with my site, but i realized they were paying like $4 a click. So thats whay prob happened. People click go to the site have no interest then leave. Google sees this and say well this isnt worth what the publisher is paying so lets rape the advertiser. at least thats how i see it. grrr

Wow your site must be pretty original or popular to have lined up 6 radio interviews as a result of a press release.

That's a pretty poor CTR. If you managed at least a 1% CTR your earnings would almost 10x

    I'm guessing it's a forum?

I'm in the same boat with smartpricing - great CTR, but horrible earnings. Hundreds of clicks per day = less than $10!

Smartpricing or whatever, results may vary from 1 to 10... at least :/ depends partly on the content..

    you found the problem

as long as those unrelated ads are there, you'll be smartpriced. why don't you make so that ads are relevant to your content, thus getting out of smarpricing and earning more than today?

besides, google is not raping the advertiser when smartpricing someone, they just make sure the advertiser is not raping the publisher...
