jdeeze first: you may want to correct the sig code for your g_verizon_chocolate_vx8500_strawberry_pink.htm ... link in your signature because you have a space at the end of your sig code resulting in a 404 for the link !!! keep in mind that 1. if you remove all filters, it may take a day or more for Google to have activated the new filter rule 2. it may take weeks for once earlier removed/filtered bidders to return to your site if they were bidding on the site only for my own full removal of all filters about 6 months ago it took several weeks for all bidders/advertisers to be back on my site with the optimization i have done - specially the ad formats and color schemes as poublished in another thread weeks ago or in my blog - now I enjoy a permanent and steady situation ... resulting in a 3+k$/m short time changes often have no instant effects - depending on the change you make - like your filter adding/removing in adsense you need to be patient and aware of natural fluctuations such as weekdays/weekends early month/mid/late month, holidays and seasonal changes, etc to panic and make changes just because a few days you are way down is totally wrong in adsense adwords users too have their low in budgets when they sleep their campaigns and their highs when they refresh their campaigns ... times when you have a few more bidders or some bidding higher or lower adwords behavior depends largely on buyers behavior and that is in many countries controlled mainly by paydays or holidays etc one (published in my blog ) method to overcome smart pricing is to change the number of ad units flexibly to meed demand - in low eCPM times reduce from 3 to 2 units or from 2 to one - always using the 3 Google-published successful formats the single most successful ad unit is the 336x280 ATF (substantially higher $ than the smaller 300x250 ) and at times of low-love eCPM that might be the only one i leave on a channel
I removed all the sites I was blocking. My revenue has gone up, but I dont know if it is because it is the beginning of the month and advertisers have more money, or if my SEO work is paying off or if it was the MFA's. I like what I see, so i guess ill go with this for now
these current days may be the wrongest days of the entire year to measure success or failure of adsense about 20% of the global population has easter holidays dozens or hundreds of millions may have easter holidays away from home - like here in PH most are for many days on the beach - in EU millions drive south for a week or more because many countries have 2-3 weeks school vacation these days. holy week is for may a time to be far from www - very different from xmas! in a week or 2 all is back to "normal" average behavior again
Same here, actually it coincided almost precisely with the REACTIVATION of my filter lol I've done the add filter, acquire data, remove filter, acquire data, add filter thing a few times...from my experience, I have to disagree with the statement that restricting the number of bidders hurts you...it doesn't when you restrict the ones paying 2 cents a click who get onto your site because they are cleverly crafting their ad type and also because they are spending big with google.
Same here but today my earnings are as low as never before (lowest CPC ever). I think its related. All those click over the weekend probably didn't convert so well.
Do you mean highest in terms of CTR? Ironically, my CTR is bouncing in the dirt right now. That's one effect I've noticed of the filter...when you let anything in, my CTR usually goes up because the MFAs that are showing on my site are writing VERY good/deceptive ad copy. The CPC with the filter off is pathetic, though. When I put my filter in, the CTR went down significantly, but CPC went up even more significantly. Why? Started filtering sites again? Coincidental timing because of the holiday? The change in ad formats? The opening of PPA? Because I sent Larry, Sergey, and Eric Easter Baskets? Unfortunately, that's too many variables in the soup.
Yes CTR and thats the problem. I think some people might have been shopping around for good deals and thus clicked multiple ads without purchasing anything. This got me good money yesterday and a horrible CPC today. Why is your CPC up? I think because people clicking to a MFA site won't buy there right? But if they click from your site to a vendor whose product they are interested in, and they buy it, you will make more money, since the advertiser pays you directly and not the middleman (MFA site). Why is the CTR lower? Well I figure there is an overabundance of MFA sites that match just about anything. They live off the fact that they can write good ads and those get clicked more. They are however still undesirable. I was actually referring to a CPC thats way down today (I have been using the filters for a long time already).
