I was wondering if a website has google analytics installed on its pages, can google track adsense clicks, and know HOW LONG the visiter stays on his domain, views other internal pages, ect. and then secretly decide how much to charge the adwords advertiser? It seems logical to me. Any opinions on this? Thanks, RonMo
Last I knew, Google was swearing they'd never use Google analytics data for anything such as this. Do you trust Google? -- Derek
If a visitor starts at google and visits a site with adsense on every page then google can track them anyway without Analytics.
Google isn't using Analytics for Smart Pricing. AdSense has its own tracking mechanism for the amount of time spent. Google's Smart Pricing also takes into account a great analysis of the web page the user exited -- what the likelihood of conversion rate is from the words in the website. I've noticed that pages of mine that talk about purchasing and buying and acquiring and the like have a higher eCPM than pages that talk about facts and knowledge of the same subject. Very interesting, actually.
