I don't think that means anything Jafar. As I understand it smart pricing means that a click that would have earned you $3 might only earn you $1.50 because smart pricing is in effect on your account. maybe that $1.80 click should have been worth more? or maybe smart pricing isn't affecting your account at all? I could be completely wrong on this of course because as people keep saying no-one really knows..
My experience is whenever I add new sites, OTHER sites' eCPM drops a lot. I've had this happen many times. Look at your end of day stats, you'll see the eCPM drops by a lot.
Knowing my kuck the $1.80 should have been $18 Thanks for the clarification. That would explain the single figure clicks coming from the same site this month. It seems it may be account wide afterall.
dzcap... have you added the Adsense Referral button to your sites... as I believe they are counted as impressions therefore lowers your CTR and CPM... I noticed that post on WW and most are removing the referral button until they get some confirmation from google that those page impression is corrected...
I haven't tried the referrals yet. Smart-pricing hit my ENTIRE account yesterday and hitting more heavily today, I know complaining about it is no use so I guess I'll stop. I am going to make some changes to increase the CTR to account for the lost revenue.
.... I deleted all my low click through pages on all my site and my CTR and CPM increase somewhat... and so did my bottom line... but still now where near to what is used to be before smart pricing hit all my sites... However, deleting did help... if only a little...
I've just made some big changes, I'll leave them for a week and see if they climb back up. I am going to try to forget about the dip by working on new sites.
Who says smart-pricing is doing anything, dzcap? It was the end of the working week yesterday, and it's the weekend today. Figure it out, get more traffic and stop pissing over smart-pricing it's infuriating me listening to all the blame. Referrals are useless. Most of the people who click the buttons won't sign-up, and out of those that do, most won't reach $100, and of those that do, most won't reach it for months. How many people do you think you have to refer to achieve any sort of results? Hundreds? Thousands? How many do you think you can send with your current page.. you probably wouldn't get 1 referal who reaches the elusive $100 after months even if you sent 1,000 clicks to the referal sign-up for AdSense. I wouldn't bother with it AT ALL. Those 1,000 clicks could of gone to a Google advert worth $1 per click and it could of been $1,000 instead of a measly $100. Refering people is worthless.. it's a shame they don't offer a percentage of your referals monthly income but that's not happening. Concentrate on traffic and design your pages around highly targetted topics and keywords. There is your high CTR. There is your smart-pricing cure. Pete
Well I did say I'd stop complaining. For your information, my traffic has been going up, it has nothing to do with the weekend, at least not with my sites so far.
