Would this assumption that i have be somewhere remotely plausible? Fewer ads on a page would result in more revenue...(because the click is giving more revenue) instead of leaderboards and rectangulars with 4 to 5 ads... placing singular ad boxes or banners on a page would give a better result in revenue? Could i be right on this?
Yes, a common technique is to show fewer ads in order to get higher per-click values on average. But you have to find the balance that's right for your site. It really depends on what kind of layout you're using and where you're placing the ads. You have to experiment and see what works for you.
Every experiment I have run shows the same results: More ads == more revenue Larger ads == larger revenue But most importantly -- keep the ads in the hot spots. Pay attention to the heat map!
Thanks guys for your replies, i think when you place more ads and larger ads the revenue is larger because the probability a click on an ad would occur is more likely to happen. But would you compare the results per click of a single ad or two ads against the larger ads or pages with more ads would there be a difference? Let's say i have only one ad, nicely placed offcourse so that it would get the occasional clicks on one page...another person has let's say three leaderboards and a link unit...the topics are the same so therefor the ads are for instance the same. After each of us has 100 clicks would i have a better revenue because the clicks where all from one ad placement instead of the whole page filled with ads? Offcourse the layout of your page determines the way ads should be placed but generally speaking? From what i have read so far on different sites i came to this conclusion but i would like to hear your expierences with fewer ad placements on your pages. Or does the most of us here fill the pages to the max
