Hi, I have submitted to google and so far everything fine, but i was wondering as we are constantly adding new pages to the sitemap, how often we should regenerate and submit new sitemap? maybe there are some tools to automate this process?
vBulletin has a sitemap generator, Wordpress has a sitemap generator, most decent scripts will have an addon for this purpose and they will ping Google/Yahoo when a post is made to tell them the sitemap has been updated.
Hi As Devilfish says some applications can do this for you. For my top websites I would probably use a belts and braces approach and manually submit monthly if I wasn't sure my application was doing it. Best wishes
It's also worth noting that Google will find your site itself over time. If it takes a lot of time updating your sitemap, you'll be better off spending your time on a sitemap for your users, and on writing fresh content to update your pages - Google will notice this.
Search "online sitemap generator". You'll find several free ones. You enter your url to be scanned, it will generate the sitemap for you whenever you want. Personally I use Wordpress and the google sitemap generator plugin. Every time I update my site, the sitemap is updated and sends google to come have a look. Even new sites get indexed quickly this way. Really.
you can use GsiteCrawler for generating Google Sitemap. It can generate sitemap for website having thousands of pages and its a desktop based application
if you have codebase sitemap eg joomla module, it will do it automatically, if not then you will have to run it on every page update.
