    ..What works best for you?

If the thread title isn't clear, I mean do you earn more when targeting smaller niches with less competition (spending less in promotion/SEM) or when targeting more competitive niches, spending more in SEM but getting higher payouts?

Of course it all boils down to the profit margin, and a good profit margin is gained through well-targeted ad campaigns and the use of the right programs.

I believe the golden eggs are to be found in the smaller niches.. where one can "dominate" the market with a rather small investment and build a good campaign with little effort. Also having an "authoritative" image as one of the pioneers, should the niche become more popular, doesn't hurt.

    What do you think?

I agree wholeheartly, boils down to this, would you rather be a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond ?, Niche markets allows you not only to dominate properly done, but also to focus, and focus is everything, just read an article the other day that defined Marketing as:

    The Right Presention
    The Right Message
    To The Right People

In other words "FOCUS" on Targeting, when one targets their Market conversions are all but guaranteed.

For me currently broad niches works good. I think small niches are not worth the effort to put in.
