small network of sites - no link exchanges??

hey all,

quick (maybe dumb!) question:

say someone (not me, a friend of mine) had a small network of 7 or so sites.

mostly plain HTML/content sites. all legit, with real info, some related to each other - topically or geographically...

say this someone DOES NOT link exchange ANY of those sites for fear of being penalized in some way. (just one-way links)

Q: is this someone:

1) paranoid
2) wasting an excellent opportunity to increase link pop. and traffic
3) not paranoid - but wise

aslong as the site are related (content wise), it should be ok to inter-link them.

 

Yes, if content and theme of those websites are related to your website's theme then its ok, but one more thing must be taken care off that is the page where your site's link is on; That page must frequently crawled by SEs and that page must not contain Nofollow command.

 

In my optionion depends if sites are on uniques IPs or not.
If uniques -> 1+2
If not uniques -> 3
