Contest Small logo edit contest. $15, 72 hours

Hi all,

Previously I hosted a 150 usd contest, the result was excellent I realised I made a small mistake with the pattern design. (That pattern was a greek key pattern, not a chinese pattern that I thought)

I'm making it a contest to get this fixed, I also had someone to do a mockup of something what I want, but as you can see, the pattern is not very well made over here, not fully circular and some areas are closer to the outer circle or inner circle than the other, not consistent.


This is my original version which I liked it alot. Comes in black/white version as well as a black/gold version. The only thing wrong is the circle pattern which I want to change.




I found a previous designer to do a mockup. This is something similar to what I want, but the patterns as you can see is not consistent. There should be either 18 or 8 patterns (can stretch the pattern abit), whichever looks better I will go for it.



This is the pattern 1.



Pattern one as seen on the plate. But I am okay with pattern 1,3,4 or 5.


This pattern 6 I can also consider. (Infinite repeat with a 'mirror-flip' kinda thing)

I have the illustrator file for my previous completed work but I will only send it to the winner to do the changes. You can submit your entries made in AI, based on my watermarked lion image.

I am open with any of the patterns I mentioned, whichever is nicer (could be nicer than my mockup) will be the winner then I'll send you the AI and you help me fix the ring in the AI version.

The number of patterns should be either 8 or 18. If it's 8, you can stretch the shape a bit as long as it looks good. Chinese likes things to be in pairs, so the patterns shouldn't be like the clock with 12 at the top, it should be "left" and "right" balanced like my mockup.

To all:
I loved the lion and the gap between the lion and the circle from my original version, the only thing I need changed is the pattern on the circle.


@muddy786, your last attempt is quite good, but follow my ratio. The lion's horn should overlap a little, the number of patterns should be either 8, 18, or 28 cause that's the chinese lucky numbers.

Thanks for the feedback, actually I just added lion randomly but this this time I kept in my mind your ratio and made 2 different designs, both have 28 patterns ,

First one the patterns are too thin. The 2nd one patterns is thicker but it feels like the circle is more inflated like the circle is much larger than the lion. Any chance you can try 18 patterns? So you don't need to squeeze in everything while the circle can be smaller

ah i see so i misunderstanding about it... sorry about that but i just confuse that you already had the golden one, is it wrong too?

 

Golden one is the one that the patterns are not evenly spread out hmm

 

Here is my revision according to the feedback with 18 patterns, I hope you'll like.

 

Looking good! But any chance you can further make the ring smaller ratio to the lion head? But of course when done I will send the AI to whoever is the winner, so even at a larger dimension the ring shape would scale naturally not blurry pixels

Btw, I think you edited my lion face a little, just use my original lion, I only want changes on the ring.

Basically from this version I actually still need:
1. More gap between lion and the ring (like my original logo)
2. Your ring of patterns can be thinner abit from the outside-in.
