I am the creative lead for a small web design company based in Texas (specifically the DFW area) and we're looking to locate a consistent developer to help manage our work load as it has recently grown greatly and we are unable to complete all work in house. This arrangement could easily lead to a full time position if your skills, work ethic and philosophies are in agreement with ours. Qualifications: - This position is only for US Residents. Local or close is a plus but not necessary. - We have a high standard of work and it's important that you can play in our sandbox. - Portfolio with work examples. - A good personality, we like to have fun and work hard ^^ Skill Sets - HTML/5 - CSS/3 - Wordpress - PHP - Javascript (we're big fans of jQuery) - MySQL - Ruby on Rails is a plus but is not necessary. We do a portion of our work in Expression Engine. - Objective C is also a plus. Our Work Environment The majority of the work we do is wordpress based so strong knowledge of wordpress is a must. We are avid mac users so if you're a windows guy/girl expect to get hazed. We code in Panic's Coda and TextMate but your IDE doesn't matter to us. Our UI work is done in Adobe Fireworks CS5 as are web designs so the ability to work with Fireworks files is a must, we don't expect you to design anything obviously but you'll need to be able to work with them for coding purposes (Photoshop is for photo manipulation). We manage projects in 37Signals' Basecamp and Highrise and we use Skype or Face Time to connect with out of area clients. Work Volume and Pay Rates Our work volume is a little crazy at the moment and it's the reason we're looking to bring someone new on, for the month of January we ran new 4 projects and currently have 3 scheduled for February in addition to our on-going and contract based work. The type and pricing of these projects varies as will the rates we pay you based on your involvement and man hours. You'll be paid 50% up front and 50% on completion, all projects will be fixed rate and you will have the option to accept or decline any project independently but we are looking for someone with decent availability. If you can only handle 1 project every 2 months don't bother! We are looking to only bring on one additional person so if you are constantly unable to work then it probably isn't a good fit for you.
