Hello, I've a small doubt regarding hosting and domains. I've two domains added to my hosting site. Is there anyway to install two WordPress blogs in the root folder on my hosting. I don't want to use sub-directories to install WP like /blog for this. If I've installed on my sub-directory, I don't want to show URL as www. domain.com/blog/Hello-world. I want to show like this instead www. domain.com/Hello-world. Is there any work around for this or do I need to buy a new host? Regards, CC
Thanks for the quick reply, but I want to use a WP site for domain1.com and another WP site for domain2.com without sub-directories and sub-domains. You people use same hosting to host different WP blogs?
one option you have is subdomain as mentioned in above post, another is if you have hosting plan with more than 1 domain, in thats case you need use another domain as addon domain. Putting script in root will not work for another domain untill its a addon domain in your account
if u hav fantastico u can in both domain's root directory. I gues softlous work fine to. Be sure diff sql database r used
Just for an example, I've added two domains using addon domains to my hosting. 1. theyuvans.co.cc 2. thespiex.co.cc They are pointing to the root folder and showing the same page. I need them to show different pages or WP blogs (I haven't installed it right now) I'll give a try now. I've Fantastico in my hosting.
I've done as you said in the previous post. Installed WP blog on root folder for domain1 and then tried installing WP blog on the same root folder for domain 2. It has overwritten all the WP files installed before. Now I see the same WP blogs on both domains. I just want them to show different WP blogs without sub-directory. 1. theyuvans.co.cc 2. thespiex.co.cc
I've used different DB, but the files have been overwritten in the root folder. EDIT: Problem Solved.
