    Hi there guys
i am new in this forum and in my very first post i have a question for you all.I will be glad if anyone could answer it and clarify my doubt .

I have purchased Domain name from godaddy and shared hosting plan from other place .I would like to know the importance of Ip-address in Seo .

how is my domain name identified by google search engine,is it with the ip-address of my hosting plan or does the name of my domain which i have bought from godaddy has any ip-address associated with it ?

Currently am low on budget but i would like to know whether buying a dedicated ip-address for my hosting is any worth in seo point of view ?
i can definately buy one at a price of 2$/month .

and also after buying the dedicated ip will my site be referred by the ip address of the hosting ?

    :)

People will be able to access you site w/ both the IP and the domain name you have purchased. There are servers on the internet called name servers or DNS servers. They are basically a huge index of domain names and their corresponding IP addresses. When a browser requests a page using a domain name, the IP protocol looks up the IP address of the domain and forwards the request to that IP. However, the user's browser will still show the domain name.

Having a dedicated IP is definitely worth it if you can afford it. Shared hosting with shared IPs can sometimes get you in trouble even when it is not your fault.

If Google finds several sites violating their Webmaster Guidelines using the same IP, sometimes they will impose a penalty on the IP. If your domain happens to be on that IP as well, you could inadvertantly be be penalized as well... guilt by association so to speak.

You can, of course, submit a Request for Reconsideration and get the penalty lifted once they've manually reviewed your site and determined that you were not violating their guidelines, however this can take days or even weeks sometimes. I personally would rather not deal with this or take the chance, so I always go for dedicated IPs.

No it simply means that you will be the only domain that has a DNS entry pointing to that IP. People will still find your site using your domain name.

First of all i would like to thank you for taking your time to respond to my post .I still have one doubt in my mind and i hope that someone can clear it too .as stated by you

So does this mean that when i buy a domain name (Just DOMAIN NAME) [which is either parked somewhere or doesnt open up on hitting the url of it . HAS A DIFFERENT IP-ADDRESS ASSOCIATED WITH IT ?cuz when i change the DNS of my Hosting account in the control panel of my domain name which i have purchased from a different company then does the Ip-address of my Hosting ip-address gets associated with the Domain ip-address ..I Believe yes and this is why people buy Dedicated Ip...Am i Correct ?

In general the DNS will refer the Hosting server. If you have the parked domain, it might have the the DNS associated with the parking server.

When you change the DNS to your with hosting server, the browser search for the IP and will show the file from you mentioned hosting server.

The process is simple. Browser > DNS > IP > Server > Files

The DNS will only acting as a referrer for the browser, which tells where to get and get the website files.
