    I think you are not very familiar with the link directory concept, if you make such an assumption.
    I have adsense on my directories for over a year and I didn't had any problem. A web directory is like any other site, if you are careful at what links you accept, so why should Google ban your account?

    As long as you review all the links that will be accepted, I can guarantee that you won't have any problems. Of course if you don't take time to review the links and you'll accept all types of links your account may be banned as it would be for any site that is not in accordance with Adsense terms and conditions.
