Google AdSense posted a message in my account telling me to put more ads on my site. I'm not a big fan of plastering ads all over my site so I decided to just put a second block of medium rectangle ads under the first block of ads only when there's a lot of whitespace on the page anyway. Once a user gets into content the second block disappears. Ad revenue has gone up a lot so far simply because the CTR has gone up. We'll see if it sticks.
Nice when something so simple makes you alot more money. I have been playing with keywords and double adsense earnings in last week. Adsense told me i am blocking some sites that pay well. I do not see what sites they are talking about and i still am making more money. Most sites i blocked are other adsense sites and clickbank sites.
Adsense told me I was blocking too many advertisers that could pay well in my competitive filters so I emptied it a few days ago and so far my revenue is dropping. I'll wait a few more days but it's really difficult. Damn MFAs...
Guys, those are generic automated messages - it doesn't mean a *real* Google rep had looked at your site and had suggested real solutions for your site. I got the same message as you guys above but I've left the MFA sites in my competitive filters. My floor minimum for clicks is at a good 5c. Can be better, but at least it ain't 1c.
I got a message about Optimization tips, they said to unblock the adds which were in my competitive filters ad, i just had two or three which i removed it immediately.
I realize they're automated messages. That doesn't change the fact that I followed its advice and improved revenue. If it lasts for more than a couple weeks then it would be a good thing. If the additional ads drive away visitors then that would be a bad thing. I also moved to the medium rectangle from the large rectangle since Google tells me that advertisers prefer the medium rectangle. That didn't result in anything noticable.
I never got that message... so it's not to EVERYONE... so... it may actually mean it's sort-of targeted?
