Small Business Owner Interested in Becoming Visible on the Internet

    I was encouraged to stop by to learn more about SEO and getting my mostly invisible small business visible on the internet. I feel like we're an island out in the middle of an ocean and no one can find us. I've contacted Google about their 'pay-per-click' plans but they're much more expensive than I can currently afford.

    To be honest, I haven't yet started researching my options but am interested in learning much, much more in my time here. There's just so much information out there I'm not sure where to begin.

    Any advice for a small business owner that offers products and services (eventually) that feels like they're yet to establish an internet foot print?
