Hello, I am working as SEO on more than 100 projects, and i do my job since 2001. After last Google update, i think algorithms become slower and need double work and link building than at the beginning of 2001. Does anybody notice same problem as me ? Usually our new project went to top 10 in 2 month after starting work, now it take up to 4. Kind regards, Kal
Our SEO specialist tells me that the Google algorithms change "frequently".......how frequently do they usually change? a few times a month? week?
Big updates are usually in 2-3 months. They fix errors during the other time i think. By my own opinion Google made a lot mistakes in algorithms since the beginning of this year, first was unscheduled PR update a month after previous.
I think number of pages on web is increasing..compared to 2001..and may be google is trying its best to speed up..but getting slower.
That's for sure. Not to mention the fact that it gets harder and harder to handle such a big number of sites and somehow to sort them.
I'll do agree it does take a lot longer these days. Look at what some of the main stream SEO people are doing recently, the buzz is in social media these days with some saying SEO is nearing its death.
I hope this will not happened as SEO feed all my family, but i agree that all SE are trying to ruin SEO business in every way!
I think we spend too much time trying to cheat the Google Algorithms, when goodle is clear about what works. Good content and a good backlinking strategy and good keyword coverage in your content linked to your page meta tags.
......but, don't the company's that don't have the time/money to do incredible amounts of SEO...don't they usually resort to huge Adword campaigns/budgets? I mean, it is possible for a site to be successful WITHOUT adwords, right? then......why would anyone spend so much on Adwords, unless they have issues with SEO? (They aren't making headway in Google rankings, etc....)....
I first started with SEO in late 98, early 99 when i had one page in #2 and another in #40 or #50 something and started trying to work out why, that was with AltaVista. Google now is very fast, i remember making changes to my pages and literally waiting weeks for the result. So no just the opposite, Google's algo's have become very fast and new content is hitting the index in minutes rather then weeks. If you are finding things slow, it's most likely because you are doing all the things that worked in 2004 which just don't have much effect anymore. They are not trying to ruin SEO, they are just trying to use factors for scoring documents that are hard to manipulate.
I agree with you at the time i started SEO, most SE needed more than 40 days to index the website. My main point is that now they need more time to index the link from link building and during the last 3 months, i need to double and tripple my link building to achieve the same results as in the beginning of the year. May be i do mistake somewhere
