Slow website loading time: Is it Wordpress or my host?

    Has anyone had any problems with ipage.com as a host? I tried to troubleshoot on my own and deactivate plug-ins on my Wordpress and delete cookies (as an ipage rep told me to do), but my site still loads in about 8.9 seconds (using pingdom.com and etc). Sometimes it takes even longer.

    I only have 5 plug-ins on my Wordpress site: Akismet, Facebook, Jetpack, WP to Twitter, and WPtouch.

    Any thoughts or past experience?

    Try to upload the same site in different server and check. Please install the plugin wpcache and check.

    What hosting company are you with? If it's a server issue, then there is nothing you can do beside switching to a new hosting provider. I've really bad experience with iPage and WordPress in the past. So just in case you are with them, it's time to look for a new host.

    There are lots of factors that result in slow loading webpages. I have a detailed tutorial on how to reduce WordPress loading time here on my blog. You might want to check it out.

    Maximum time hosting problem is the main cause of making slow any site.
    I think wordpress hasn't any problem like that.

    Normally many wordpress sites are slower...
    One way to find why your site slowing down is P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) Plugin.
