Hi I Need help with my PC. My PC is very slow. I tried formatting my c:\ and reinstalling the OS. But still my PC is slow. The following screenshot will tell you my PC config and OS and also what programs are running in the taskman. I only have Zonealarm Firewall and Avast installed and running in my system tray. My PC was superfast when I purchased it 2 years back but now its not. Is it true that the speed of the processor decreases when it gets older and older? If yes, why? I dont see a point for it being slow day-by-day. Plz help. Thanx
Here's 10 steps for what you need to do: 1) Shut down PC 2) Unplug all cords 3) Find a large box 4) Put PC in the box 5) Dump box at garbage dump 6) Go to PC Store 7) Buy new PC 8) Take new PC home 9) Plug PC in to power 10) Turn new PC on.
" Zonealarm Firewall and Avast installed and running in my system tray." you may have memory problem or try to do disk cleanup and/or disk fragmentation
Ram will speed up my PC??? I thought the speed of the PC is taken care by the processor which Is celeron 2.0 GHz
you need more RAM to run multiple threads or programs in the background both CPU and RAM are neccessary to PC speed. RAM's your energy Processor's your speed if you have the speed but no energy, works cant be done beneficially.
You just need to upgrade your PC with latest available as you have currently celeron Go with PIII or PIV. DON.
Yes Bill takes goats as currency. You just to convert the goat to eGoat and send it via paypal. But Celeron is also from Intel like P 3/4, so itsnt it any better?
celeron speed is only 1/3 matchable to similar speed of pentium celeron 2.0ghz is actually slower than Pentium 2.0ghz its hard to explain but its just not running at the fullest, but it is OK for normal day useand nongaming/graphic use
One idea: if the Windows reinstall didn't work, how about trying a Linux install? If it won't go well, then um.. I have no other idea Oh, and as for the RAM upgrade, I don't think it's necessary, I used a 1.5 Ghz Celeron and 256 MB RAM @ Windows XP some time ago, and it was smooth
1. insert 4 GB RAM 2. install your so again 3. before click anyway install a anti-virus & full scan hope it work for you. thanks
No, I didn't, but my habit was to have like ~30 tabs opened in Firefox, which seems to be quite a memory hog, and as for the background apps, there were always 2: uTorrent and Zone Alarm
bare in mind each windows update also accumulate higher power proccesses to be ran in the background and 512 wont stand active scanning or monitoring of avast and zonealarm in long run due to computer file and thread sizes increase.
