If you watch CNN, every once in a while, when they are hunting for information, they will use google. They just say they are searching for information, never mention google.
I saw a car commercial today - Pontiac, I think. They showed the google home page. I had it muted, so I did not understand exactly why. I wonder if that was placement, or if it was a challenge to find a better deal?
I don't know if it is just because Google is so huge or if that is a suttle way of advertising. Very slick. Kinda like how Apple advertises by having everyone in movies using a Mac.
I work in the intelligence field for the military and we use google daily for open source information. In some cases the press can usually find out about stuff faster than we can so we turn to news.google!
Yeah I also work for the CIA and every time I need to know where a certain militia leader is located I just use google map...
Its amazing what you can find out from google from some advanced searching. Many webmasters should know how to advance search google. But most will just search for thier serp placement Oh and amazing how many people dont secure their sites properly and end up getting things that shouldnt be cached, cached. Brad
Saw the commercial again last night... "Google Pontiac and See for Yourself..." and shows the Google homepage. Pontiac.com is #1, and after the description: Photo Gallery - Solstice - TORRENT - GTO All click tracked, like this: http //www google com/url?sa=U&start=1&si=2&oi=smap&q=http://www.pontiac.com/torrent/gallery.jsp Which makes me wonder, why would G be so interested in the clickthru of the sub-links? If you make us #1, with extra links, we'll mention you in our ads?
