This has probably been overdone and asked almost a million times, but in domain names should we use Slashes (-) or nothing? Does it matter at all? and do you guys know anywhere else we should put our keywords to maximize for SEO?

    I would prefer Slashes.

And slashes are much better than underscore when it comes to google optimization

Go for slashes. Underscore looks kinda "spammy" to me, LOL.

I have read that a dash is reconised as a space by the search engine so is better than the underscore - can anyone confirm?

Thanks - and Hello by the way, great site ;)

good call on correcting the mistake. In the world of computing the difference between a slash (/) and a dash (-) could lead to major problems.

I personally prefer no dashes. I think it all boils down to personal preference. But when I type in a URL I would rather not have to type in the dash, having the words run together instead. It is a lot easier to type in therearenodashes.com than there-are-no-dashes.com.

Yes. You are right. - for google would mean spaces. I dont know about Yahoo or MSN.
So if you are searching for "Home Loan Mortgage", website with Home-Loan-Mortgage.com score better than HomeLoanMortgage.com

agree with typing, but its lot more difficult to read and make out therearenodashes.com than there-are-no-dashes.com. If its difficult to make out in first glance, chances are less users will put emphasis on making it out, they would probably move on - IMO

one way is to write it like ThereAreNoDashes.com - it helps reading the domain name and remember it

This should be moved to the domain name forum, where there are other threads discussing this topic :)
