I was told (and I should've checked it out myself) that SlashDot.com was a Dofollow bookmark site. I went ahead and wrote a couple articles there...then I looked at the code, just to make sure it was DoFollow - and it wasn't. It had nofollow in their code - right w/in my link it had...rel="nofollow". Grant it, it didn't have "external nofollow", but I'm assuming that's the same - correct? Anyway, I'm about to give up on bookmarking sites and hit the forums once again unless anyone knows for sure of a bookmark site that is DF. Anyone know of any?
Install the firefox nonofollow addon. The click the right mouse and select nonofollow. Every link on the page that is dofollow has a blue background; the nofollow links have a red background. I installed it a week or so ago and wished I'd done so earlier - it would have saved masses of time. Like you I get sick of joining sb sites and then finding they're nofollow.
