Skype is starting to suck. Whats the alternative?

Thanks for all these alternatives. I will compile and update my first post with credits to those who have suggested better alternatives. I started using ICQ but while it has most of the basic stuff, it doesnt work well for offline messages. It has some weird permission issues as well that doesnt allow responding to offline messages from non-contacts (or adding them for that matter). Definitely looking for something with more users and better worldwide coverage. thanks again for all your input. Keep em coming.

 

Totally love Skype. But if u are looking for an alternative, google hangout is coming up strong.

 

I stick to the Skype. It is the best.

Skype sucks as IM, I use ICQ and Jabber.
