I been selling links in my blog before and I notice something that I cannot understand. People buying link to my blog in post or they want me to just edit the post and put there links inside.

I am offering sitewide(blogroll) but they don't want it..

Which is really a good source of backlink?

In content links are the better than sitewide or blogroll - they look more natural if done right, and can prevent google removing the PR to your site.

As MJewel said, in content links look more natural.

It is a normal practice for bloggers to link out to others in their posts.

tehre is no reason for someone to link to an external site from every single page unless its a paid link or networked site. google uinderstands that as well for which sitewide links dont work anymore.

Nowadays if you notice, webmasters have been purchasing blog posts utilizing different keywords on different blogs. And yeah, it's a good source of backlink.

For me, Is more effective if you get page specific links rather than sitewide links. Because sitewide links have the same IP.

Site wide links mans many links from same site this wil not be good, but if link included with content look more natural and also will get many click on it according to the digg on the blog. The BL form it may get more value than the site. especially its good for PPC

They have a purse picture on their home page so is that be the reason they have a PR 5? Should I put a purse picture on my site to get it to rank well?

The point being is that just because a site is doing something, it doesn't mean it is the reason they rank well. It's possible that their sidewides are completely ignored by google and it's other links and factors that are making them rank well.

Is it normal for someone to give sitewide links (votes) to particular site for free, or is it more common for a link or two in a post? Google likes naturally links. Which looks more normal?
