What would be better for google optimization,to get one frontpage link or sitewide link which you get on blogs?

Do not get sitewide links. Imagine you are Google. You find a blog where the same outbound link appears on hundreds of pages - what would you think?

I would get sitewide links though. But not at the very start of my campaign!

Sitewide link, from my experience, reduces the PR of the site doing it. I would not recommend it.

Well i got one day two sidewide links,i dropped a little for few days, and then i jumped to position four for one major keyword so i guess sitewide links are good but could cause temporal drop beacuse it may look like a tons of new backlinks at once in google eyes.

I agree.. From my experience natural links are better and sitewide links are not really natural..

Provide a good service and give people a reason to link to you, these are the best links :)

I'd say homepage only, or take a link from a relevant internal page. I do take the occasional sitewide, but my site is older.

I would have to disagree... We have many links coming from sitewide and homepage links.. If I could go back in time I would want nothing but homepage only links.. I have done a lot of research in this area..

But the fact of the matter is, this is all out of our control.. If a webmaster wants to link to our site with a sitewide link there really is not much that you can do about it.

For stable ranking, I recommend frontpage link only. Sitewide links could deliver to different results, first is you can outrank other websites and then the other could be you will be loss in the search results.

I have an idea, if you want to site wide link.
do site wide links BUT from new site, so your link would be grow steady in good pace, not like spam links. Start from new site with 4-10 page.

Both of them are good as long as they appear in a natural way.
