sites went down for hours, caused them to drop from google

i am on a shared server, and i requested my sites be put on unique IP addresses. this (or something the host did) caused them to go down (bad httpd conf error or something) and when they came back, they were not in google anymore.

could something like this have caused my sites to drop off from google? i am almost positive the spiders did not come around to my sites. could the fact that every user who clicked on my result hit the back button almost immediately caused this?

    thanks!

Uptime is really important, but the site being down for hours shouldn't cause a problem. The bots should come back.

Bad httpd conf error or something sounds to me worse than a site being down.

    right...i thought about that.

but would a sites being down (for basically the first time ever) cause the sites to totally drop out of the serps? i literally dont get any google traffic anymore.
